PRESIDENTS IN THE GARDEN
Adams understood that gardening starts with healthy soil. His diaries were filled with comments and recipes on manure. He studied and experimented the merits and combinations of dung, lime, seaweed. While serving his presidency at the White House, his wife Abigail stayed home. He may have been distracted at times from his job by the many letters he wrote to Abigail with instructions on how to properly manure the fields.
